How to Cope with the Pizza Hut on Parrs Wood Lane Closing and the Queen Dying
Embracing change in our lives can be difficult, but two big changes in one day can be outright overwhelming
Yesterday was a tough day for those of us from Didsbury, as not only is the local Pizza Hut closed, but also our beloved queen has died.
While it's difficult to deal with change, sometimes it can be necessary and even beneficial. Here's how to cope with two big changes happening at once.
1. Acknowledge your feelings
It's okay to feel sad, scared, or angry when faced with change. Don't try to bottle up your emotions, but instead take some time to process them. Maybe write down your thoughts in a journal, or talk to a friend about what's going on. You can also use drugs such as marijuana, crack cocaine or alcohol to alter and morph your feelings from something negative into something positive.
2. Make a plan
If the change is something you can't control, it can be helpful to make a plan for how you'll deal with it. This can help you feel more in control and less overwhelmed. For example, if you're worried about the Pizza Hut closing, decide where you'll get your pizza fix from now on. Or petition to have another Pizza Hut built.
3. Focus on the positive
It can be easy to dwell on the negative when faced with change, but try to focus on the positive aspects as well. Maybe the Pizza Hut closing means you'll get to try new pizzas from other places. Maybe the Queen will be resurrected from the dead.
4. Be patient with yourself
Change can be hard, and it's important to be patient with yourself as you adjust. Give yourself time to grieve, heal, and adapt to the new reality. If you are finding it hard to be patient, you can end your life and evade further pain.
4. Listen to my new song
I wrote a song about the Queen and the Pizza Hut on Parrs Wood Lane. I think it speaks to all of us in Didsbury. Please enjoy!
